MORE RESCUE DOGS REHOMED >>>>>>>
Poppy and Pippa
Poppy and Pippa were found wandering on the same street, on the same day, but at different times, so we think they are almost certainly related. Aged about 2 or 3 and long-coated, they have been good in kennels, where they seem to be OK with other dogs as well as cats and sheep. They are certainly friendly with the people they meet. We are happy to rehome them together or separately. On the left of the photo, Poppy is slightly the bigger of the two. Because of their unknown background, we would not rehome them with young children.
Sheba
Meet SHEBA, She is a very loving 3-year-old spayed bitch. Black and tan short coat. She has lovely manners in the house and around food. Was very friendly the moment I walked through the door giving lots of kisses and wanting to be on my knee for a cuddle. Is very attached to her owner and will follow her wherever she goes. Has been with a 3-year-old and I'm told she is very good with him. She is very strong on the lead so owner uses a head collar and says she doesn't pull much with it on. She isn't good with dogs outside due to lack of socialisation; barks and lunges at the end of the lead at any passing. Does stay at the owners' grandparents house a lot who also has three dogs and she is okay with them. Could possibly be homed with a calm male dog but they would have to have experience of the breed and be able to do some training with her has she needs further socialization. She is fine being left home alone and is fully house trained. A very loving dog who would do well as an only dog with a couple or possibly a family with older children.
Precious
6 Year old unspayed bitch. Lovely temperament but not had much socialisation with other dogs. Currently in foster where she has been no problem. Would probably be better being an only dog as she is very bossy and jealous. She’s very loving and cuddly no problems with food will play football recall is good she doesn’t stray far from you. She’s quite good on the lead. Precious is a happy little girl who just wants your attention. Being rehomed due to their owners losing their home.
Rolo
Rolo was rescued by one of our volunteers who saw him in a free ad. His owner was going to put him down because he had hurt one of the kittens her cat had just had while she was out and had left them all together! This on top of he had growled at her 2-year-old son who constantly pulled at his fur, ears and whiskers. Rolo is only 9 months old and he was supposed to understand that all this was wrong. He is entire and is a GSD cross collie. He has settled into his foster home with no problems and has been great with foster mum’s other dogs and cats. For such a young dog, he is very obedient but will need more lead training and obviously, he has a lot of bounce and plays in him. He has shown no aggression and let foster mum look him all over without any fuss. He will benefit from an active home that can give him the exercise and stimulation a dog of his age needs.
Chance
Chance is a 7-year-old Male. His previous owners had him for 5 years and got him from a breeder when he was about 15 months old. He is aggressive with male dogs but is ok with females if introduced slowly. He is great with people and children but proved too strong to walk and too aggressive when he saw dogs. They gave him up to an older lady who could not walk him either so when he strayed no one wanted him back! Can you give Chance another chance?
Angel and Zeus
Angel and Zeus are a very lovely brother and sister who are 2 years old and who have lived together their whole lives. They also live with a cat and two children and are friendly with other dogs that they meet. Their owner, who has had them since they were tiny, is very reluctant to find them new homes but circumstances beyond her control have made this necessary. They do bark when you approach their home (well, they are GSDs after all!), but there's not an ounce of nastiness about it and they're all out for a fuss and a treat from visitors after that. These two dogs are very much yin and yang- he controls the stick games and she controls the food bowls. They have only been separated for minutes at a time and are very dependent on each other, so although Zeus copes a little better without his sister, Angel would find being separated from her brother too distressing. Both dogs have a good recall to a whistle and although they do pull a little on the lead this can be managed with their harnesses. These two are young, beautiful, healthy, friendly, intelligent, well socialised, willing to learn. Even Angel's folded ear is lovely (apparently it does stand to attention occasionally). If you're up for twice as much love then these two could be a ready-made family for you
Alfie
This handsome young man is 17 mth old, entire male, Alfie. A loving dog with people he knows, but nervous of strangers. Alfie's owner doesn't have the experience or confidence to walk Alfie, so he is getting much exercise. When he does get walked, his owners' issues are transgressing onto Alfie, and he can come across quite mouthy. With an experienced owner & some basic training, he will become a wonderful dog.
Tamba - heartless owners just wanted to be rid of her so offered her to anyone for free!
This pretty lady, is 5 yr old, unspayed bitch, Tamba. Advertised as 'Free To Good Home', the owner didn't even ask for an address of where she would be living, after 5 yrs of owning her! Tamba is vaccinated, tattooed & microchipped. Housetrained & travels really well in the car. Fine with children but timid with under 5's. Lived with cats. Very playful. Has also lived with dogs & bitches, and is currently in foster care with both. A really nice affectionate girl.
Monty
Monty is a 4-year-old neutered male, abandoned at a yard when the company left. He wasn’t used to walking on leads but has improved and will need more training He is big and can be quite intimidating but is in fact very friendly with everyone. Not well socialised with other dogs but from what we have seen he wants to go to them in a playful way. Because of his size and being a bit clumsy we wouldn’t rehome him with young children.
Rocky
Rocky is a 5-year-old neutered male. This poor boy has been from pillar to post in his short life. He is misunderstood and just wants to play. He has lived with children with whom he is fine, he just wants to play. He needs a calm forever home with sensible experienced owners (no more idiots) to call his own.
