sheba older gsd

This is Sheba is about 6-7 yrs she came into rescue almost 2 yrs ago, was home but sadly due to illness she is looking for a new home. She is a very nice girl she is spayed she lives with another GSD male and they get on well. Sheba doesn't like cats but is fine with other dogs and children. Sheba is just looking for a quiet place to call her own loves her walks. Sheba is Black and tan semi coated. She is vaccinated and this is paid for life .She is a good family dog she travels well.Sheba is on Propolin as she does have bladder weakness but this is only at night and on the medication she is fine. This is an urgent case and an offer of a foster home would be welcome.

Zeus

zeus gsd puppy

This is Zeus, he is just 5 months old, came to us as the owner couldn't manage him and family. Zeus has not bee given any guidance. Been allowed to please himself. He is now in our care and doing well and been should how to behave. He is living with 5 other GSD's mixed sex, they are helping him. He doesn't know how to play and when he meets new dogs he does bark at them. But with the correct guidance, he will be a nice boy. We don't think he is pure GSD. Zeus is in the Scunthorpe area.

Max

max gsd

This is Max he is a very lively boy loves to play not with toys but with bricks(ha). He is very friendly he is fine with children, cats and other dogs. He is fully house trained although he does prefer to be outside. He does pull on the lead as volunteer said could pull a sledge on his own. The reason for rehoming single lady works full time. Max has been in this home since 8 wk's old.Max is in the Sheffield area.

Angel

angel

Meet Angel. Another found and placed in a pound.  She’s about 5 - 6 months, vaccinated, wormed and treated for fleas.  Poor little girl doesn't know what’s happening to her and she is frightened, but not aggressively so.  She wets herself when approached.  Nevertheless, I think she will make a really good dog once she settles with someone.  She is quite responsive when spoken to.  We had her out with the other dog and she barked initially, but soon calmed down and was friendly with him.  She is a beautiful looking dog and will be quite stunning when she fills out a bit more.  Dew claws on her back legs need removing.  Travelled perfectly in the car.  She needs someone with a bit of GSD experience but will respond to kindness. Don't know what she would be like with children, but I would guess she would be OK if they were responsible

Bruno

bruno long haired gsd

This is Bruno. he is a 3 yr old neutered male Black and Tan long coat. Bruno was taken into a foster home back in March from a home where he was not cared for and kept outside. He was adopted in April this year sadly the new owners' circumstances have changed and once again Bruno is looking for a new home. We have to find him one before 12th August. Bruno is a lovely boy he is good with children from babies upwards, he is fine with other dogs and cats. He is great on the lead and in the home. I for one am sad this boy is looking for a new home through NO FAULT of his own.He is in the Darlington area.

Mackie

This boy is 3 years old, he is entire he is black/tan semi coated. Mackie has lived with young children and was fine with them. Although we feel it best to place in a home without children due to him being tormented. He is not good with cats. Mackie is being re-homed due to a relationship break up. Mackie is now been left for long periods his owner tries to get home at lunch time to let him out. where they have moved to the local children are tormenting Mackie during the day as he likes to look out of the window. When our volunteers went to meet both Mackie and owner, he did bark at them he was not checked but when our volunteer told him he did respond. We feel that Mackie will be a very nice dog but will need to be shown how to behave. He does show aggression in his bark but our volunteers felt he was scared. Whilst they were outside with him local children rode past on bikes and started to bark at Mackie. This boy will have to be taken to kennels as his owner feels he is been unfair trying to keep Mackie. This boy was mixed with our volunteers own dog and he was fine. Mackie is now in kennels in York

Shadow

shadow gsd

This big, handsome boy is Shadow. A 5 yr old neutered male, he is also vaccinated and microchipped. Shadow lives with another dog but does bark at dogs when out on walks. He initially barks at strangers, but soon settles down. Fine with older children. Shadow needs socialising & further training. With some time & patience, he will make an excellent companion.

Duke - tormented and beaten since he was a puppy

duke gsd

Duke is approx 15 months old and is a stunning example of the breed, he is very intelligent, loyal and affectionate once he gets to know you.  Poor Duke has a past full of physical mistreatment and mental torment resulting in him being initially concerned when he meets new people so he just needs to be ignored and he will come to you for a cuddle after about 10 minutes.  He has been so badly abused his tail had to be removed as it was broken, but it is fully healed and he copes well without it.  Duke is very excitable and does still show he is still a puppy by mouthing if you let him, he loves going for walks although he does need further lead work as well as work on his recall, he is a well-mannered dog who know basic commands but has the potential to be so much more.  Duke is responding well and improving in the foster home, and has settled in nicely with the resident dog and bitch and will happily play all day given a chance.  Duke shows no sign of food or toy aggression and does not react to cats or other dogs while out on the lead, however, he is quick as a flash at opening doors.  Duke is a strong minded boy and needs an experienced owner who will give him the rules he needs to know his place in the family structure.  Duke is good with older children, and rabbits and he travels well in the car.

Bruce

bruce gsd

This absolutely stunning boy, is 2 yr old, neutered male, Bruce. a really friendly dog greeted our assessor with licks & wagging tail. Bruce is vaccinated, microchipped & housetrained. Bruce gets over excited when travelling & 'talks' the whole journey! Walks nicely to heel. Bruce has been to training classes so knows some commands. He is a big boy, over 40kgs, but not aggressive at all. A really nice dog for any family.

Leah

leah gsd

This lovely lady, is 6 yr old spayed bitch, Leah. A sweet girl, who is up to date with vaccinations, but not microchipped. Fine with children of all ages. Leah is good with other dogs too. Leah can live with cats. Housetrained. Leah's owner is moving house and can't take her with her. Leah is just a really great friendly girl.

Lexi

lexi gsd

This beauty is 8 months old, unspayed bitch, Lexi. She has had a mixed up start to life, being sold on the internet, then dumped in a pound after only a few days. Lexi is currently in foster care with 2 other German Shepherds and loves to play with them. Not vaccinated. Just a typical bouncy puppy, who does need her confidence building.

Charlie

charlie

This big gorgeous bear is 5 yr old, entire male, Charlie. A nice, friendly guy with everybody at the kennels. Loves being bathed & groomed. Not vaccinated or chipped. Clean in his kennel. A really lovely looking boy. A failed security dog, because he jumped up & licked 'burglars' faces. Seems ok with dogs in kennels.
