MORE DOGS REHOMED>>>>>>>

Millie - Cornwall

millie long coat german shepherd

Millie is a 4-year unspayed bitch. She is good with children, other dogs and cats. She has loved with a retriever and a 2-year-old child. Millie will need some training on the lead and can get excited and jumpy when meeting new people.  She has not had much exercise of late though due to very sad circumstances within the family and this is why she needs a new home as quickly as possible.  She is a lovely natured girl but does suffer from mild epilepsy. Currently, she is only affected once every few months and the vet has not yet recommended the need for medication.  Can you help this gorgeous girl and her family?

Chopper - Newbury

chopper ghsd mastiff cross

Chopper is a 3-year-old neutered male MastiffxShepherd and possibly has an excessive guarding instinct.  His instincts may be more Mastiff than Shepherd.  He bit a teenage boy but the circumstances may have been that he thought he was guarding the house.  He is a previous rescue and we don’t know his full history or what may have triggered the incident.  Our assessor found him friendly at home but very alert out in the street.  He could be a handful. He is not keen on other animals outside on the street but lives with domestic rodents and is evidently fine with them.   He needs a stable home preferably without young children. He needs to be introduced to adolescents very carefully.  He is a big solid dog who enjoys ball games and could be very good in the right environment.’

Charlie - Hampshire

charlie gsd

Charlie is a 14-month entire male. Being rehomed because his owner is being evicted, he is currently in foster. Charlie is a big lad but a gentle giant. He has not lived with children but has been fine with the owner’s friends children. Good with other dogs. This big soppy lad just needs a home to call his own where he will get the exercise and training a dog of his age needs.

Harvey - Essex

harvey gsd

This gorgeous boy is 6-year-old neutered Harvey. He was adopted by a family last year who adored him and had no problems with Harvey himself. However, their resident bitch and he would squabble over dominance issues which according to the family was usually instigated by the bitch. This has caused Harvey some stress. However, Harvey is a sociable dog towards other dogs when out. He loves people and his toys and is a very easy going lad. He has been to obedience classes and has been doing really well.

Prince - Not had a good life

prince ex yard dog

This lad would like a retirement home. He was used as a guard dog, the company went bust and he was surplus to requirement. This is what he had to say about Prince. Prince is approx. 8 yrs old He is Black & Tan long coated, he enjoys been groomed and loves attention.he is very well behaved but can and will protect his own. At first, he is very wary but once he knows you he is friendly. He can be temperamental towards men but woman and children he is ok and he loves running around with my cocker spaniel. Prince is chipped and vac. He is in kennels in Pateley Bridge Will need a firm experienced owner. This dog has been a working lad.

Molly - NE

molly semi coated german shepherd

Volunteer says: Molly is 4 yrs old she is black/tan and long coated. She is being left for long periods my her owner. Molly greeted us with continual barking & wagging of the tail. this did not last long as she realised this was not intimidating us. She then took a couple of treats from me. I took her for a walk with Ash (TOP DOG ) she did try to nip at Ash only once but was corrected immediately by me. She walked lovely after that. She is not an aggressive dog but I feel she is nervous. What is obvious from meeting Molly is that the problem is the owner, not the dog. I would recommend Molly going to an experienced handler that will teach her "doggy etiquette* She needs to be in a calm environment without children or with older ones.

Ellie - In so much pain that she was walking round in circles!!!

ellie gsd dumped in the pound

5/3/11 - NE Volunteer says: When I was told that Ellie was in the pound and that she had blood in her urine, I made plans to get her out ASAP. She has been on antibiotics but had not cleared, we took her to the vets and she had an x-ray that showed she had a large stone in her bladder. When opened up she had 2, this had not just happened over night. She has had her op and is ok. She has to go back to vets on Monday (14th March) for a check up. We would like to get this girl a home ASAP as a kennel is no place to convalesce. She has a wonderful nature and the staff adore her. We think she is between 18 - 24 months hard to tell.

Lola - Merseyside

lola gsd

Lola is 6yrs spayed, is good with children of all ages and is currently living with 3 cats. She can be wary of new dogs but once she knows them is ok she has lived with one before and would be happy with a calm male. Lola is very friendly with new people, is happy being left alone and travels well. She has a good basic level of training and would suit a fairly calm home with plenty of cuddles.

Tessa

tessa gsd

What a stunner this girl is. Tessa is 14 months old she is un spayed she came to us as her owner had fallen on hard times and was unable to feed himself never mind Tessa. She is thin and her coat is not in a good condition but with good food and grooming she will be beautiful. She has lived with young children and another dog. she has never shown any aggression. She is at the moment in a foster home with children and another dog.

Maximus

maximus

Maxximus a 21/2 yr old entire semi coated male. He was adopted by this owner only 4 days ago from a rescue. Since getting him their dog is aggressive towards him, he is not retaliating. Owners don't want him to go back to where he came from. He is a fantastic dog, very loving and playful. Our volunteer says another friendly lad came to be fussed, does pull on the lead but after a couple of minutes was ok, knows basic commands will sit and give paw.We are told that the previous owner handed him in as he couldn't afford to feed him, he has lived with children, cats and other dogs you can take toys off him. He is under weight weighing in at 30 kilos. Some one will be very lucky to adopt this lad.

Kim - Mansfield

kim german shepherd puppy

This little lady is our Kim. Kim is only 5.5 months old and already in rescue as a behaviourist working at a vet told her owners there was nothing she could do to help them with her nervousness and nipping. She is now in foster with 6 other GSDs and a JRT, 3 cats and 4 horses. She is a very switched on girl and shows signs of typical dominant GSD bitch traits which any new owner would have to make sure they kept her in line and never allowed her to take over their place in the pack. We will only re home Kim to someone who has extensive GSD experience especially with bitches and a no children household. Help will be given to anyone thought to be suitable as Kim is definitely work in progress and will be for some time to come. Allison Clarke 01623 798943

Samson - Nuneaton

samson gsd

This beautiful but very thin boy is 2 years old Samson who has now been vaccinated, micro chipped and neutered.  Little is known about him but he is wary of men but with time and patience this can be worked on, but he does like the ladies.  He is unknown with dogs but has not shown any anger towards his fellow kennel mates. A lovely dog who needs a good home for him to feel secure loved and socialised.
