URGENT Foster or forever home

Winston is sadly having to come back to rescue and we’d hate for him to end up in kennels as he doesn’t deserve it

We have until the 14th October

Winston is a beautiful male long haired GSD whose 3yrs old and currently entire

We are looking for a home where there are no other pets in the home and with an adopter who is willing to commit and continue with Winstons training for his reactivity towards other dogs due to his lack of socialised

Winston is a typical GSD and is protective of his home and doesn’t like the post man or delivery drivers, this is quite easily managed by ensuring Winston is in a separate room prior to the door being opened and a letter box basket or mailbox outside the home

His commands are very good and he’s a very clever boy who was a delight when our volunteer met him

Our volunteers went to the home and met an excitable typical GSD who after a sniff was very eager to have lots of love and attention

Winston was very excited to go for a walk, he is very strong on the lead, he was very happy to go out with our volunteers considering they had only met him 30min before

He reacted when he saw a dog on the other side of the road but with two corrections he sat down, he then saw another dog off lead in the park that he completely ignored so Winston is able to overcome the reactivity given time and some patience

We wouldn’t recommend he be rehomed with small children

An active home with adopters who are experienced and committed would be ideal as Winston would flourish in the right home.
