Karma is a short haired spayed girl sadly looking for a new home as she had an altercation with the landlords cat and he has threatened eviction if the dogs are not rehomed. Karma was privately adopted via Pets for homes in 2019 when she was approximately 22 months old.
It certainly isn't what the owners want but they also don't want to loose their home.
The volunteer was met by inquisitive noses wanting to say Hi she said that they were calm, no jumping or barking but keen to have a sniff ..... I think she smelt the lovely treats she had hiding in her pockets !! Karma is a little underweight and dispalys a nervous energy, moving around although a well behaved young lady. She did settle once she felt comfortable
Karma definitely needs some lead work. She gor very excited when the lead came out and flat collar and lead she hauled the owner out the front door. 1st distraction was a Munkjack that sped acroos in front of her..... wow high prey drive kicked in and she wanted to get it. Once she got to the place it disappeared she had to be unglued from the spot to continue her walk . She happily walked past a calm dog and its owner, looking up but no interest and she was not interested in a group of cyclists that went past. The return journey was far calmer with sniffing and better lead control.
In short Karma is an intelligent dog with nervous enerand would excel in the right homegy and curiosity. We are told she is not bothered at all by loud noises such as fireworks. She has a high, intense prey drive. Although under weight, she is very strong on lead & needs all the lead work from scratch. She seemed perfectly at home indoors and owners say she does live in the home although there is a heated kennel and run outdoors.
She needs a home with land where she can continue to please herself but be part of her family or she needs a home with strong leaders who are prepared to work with Karma. She is a lovely dog
