REHOMED
This young man originally cxaame on our logs in July but the owner kept changing her mind about rehoming him. We were then contacted by a breeder who asked if we would take a dog as she couldn't take the dog back as he was aggressive. We were told that hw was being kept in a utility room and food was being chucked over the door. That he wasn't being exercised , only allowed out in the garden. We were also told that he would DRAG the Newfoudland that he lived with round the garden and had bitten the owners.
We offered our help and a voluteer travelled down to collect him., it was then that we realised that it was the same dog...... But what is written above is not what we have seen.
Axel is extremely thin, he weighed in at 23.2kg on arrival. He has been diagnosed with EPI and campylabactor both of which are now being treated. He has settled well into our foster kennels and they have found this boy to be a delight. He has the sweetest nature and loves his humans.
We are in the process of testing him around other dogs but hasn't reacted to the dogs in the kennels, it maybe different when out and about but we are sure that with some boundaries and training he will make a wonderful addition to any home.
Axel would like to be the only dog in the home with people who are around to give him some much needed attention. He will need medication (Lypex capsules) for the rest of his life due to his EPI (Exocrine Pancreatic Insufficiency in Dogs | VCA Animal Hospital (vcahospitals.com) but his condition can be controlled and he can move forward to live a long and happy life.
If you can offer this boy what he needs please get in touch. Kennels is no place for any dog but especially not for Axel.
