Ziva - Co. Durham

Ziva - Co. Durham

Ziva came to us from the pound so her previous life history is unknown to us, whilst in the pound she was treated for an ear and eye infection.  She still has drops for her eyes which have cleared up beautifully but still need the drops for the timebeing.  She is now in foster and her foster parents have said she is a wonderful girl.  This is their write up on her:

Ziva is a lovely, gentle girl who loves a cuddle. A very affectionate girl who loves a belly tickle and being close to humans. She’s happy to chill out in her own space providing she knows where you are! She is a very gentle dog and loves to play, recently discovering the joys of snuffle mats and treat filled toys, which she adores. She understands basic commands such as sit, stay, paw, down and wait, but does get a little distracted at times. She just loves to cuddle up with you on a sofa or bed but asks for permission first and in typical GSD fashion, will always have one eye on the door. She doesn’t mind being groomed and eats well. She can be a little greedy at times and given an opportunity to counter surf or take food off children, I have no doubt she would! Ziva isn’t afraid to use her voice if you get visitors or a knock at the door. She can be quite vocal, but settles straight away once visitors come in or once the door shuts. Once visitors are in the house, she’ll have a sniff and come over for a little attention before settling. She does show interest in small furries so probably wouldn’t be suitable to have them in the same household. She loves her walks and happily walks for miles. She’s pretty good on lead but can occasionally pull at times, especially so if she’s seen another dog or is somewhere new. She does have a gruff at other dogs if they are in her space or they react to her. However, give her a few feet space and she settles quickly. Recall hasn’t been tested, but as she can get distracted easily this may need work.
