Handsome Zeus is almost three years old and looking for his forever home. He came into our care via the Inspectorate having been rescued along with several other GSDs.
Zeus will need a lot of time and patience. It's unlikely that he will bond with his new owner straight away so several visits will be needed and Zeus must not be put under any pressure. He is such a great dog and the rewards will be immense for anyone willing to make that effort with him.
Sadly Zeus has already had two failed adoptions. As he became more comfortable in the home environment a certain level of defensiveness appeared and it is clear that Zeus does not like people in his personal space unless he chooses them to be.
Zeus doesn't need a mansion to live in but he does need space to play in a decently-sized garden with non-see through fencing and gates to help curb his territorial instincts. A quiet, rural home would be ideal for him, with a breed-experienced owner who understands this type of behaviour and can handle it calmly. Zeus may also benefit from being rehomed with another dog, preferably a bitch of a similar size. We believe Zeus will respond positively to a good routine and predictable structure to his day. He is definitely a bright boy who would enjoy training sessions and being given a job to do.
