Zeus came into the country from Portugal with another GSD that was thought to be his mother. They had been found tied to a tree during the forest fires in 2018 and both had suffered burns.
His present owner had lost her GSD and her son bought her Zeus as a present. She has worked very hard with him over the last 2 years to abate his fears of which he had many.
Zeus is a very shy boy who likes to sit back and watch until he feels comfortable. He loves his treats of which the volunteer had made her very speacial liver ccake and Zeus couldn't resist. He was very quiet and doesn't really bark, When he arrived with his current owner he was scared of absolutely everything. and whilst he is and neer will be a brave dog , he has come a long way in accepting people
Zeus has some labrador friends that he spends time with and just follows them around. Heis owner struggles to walk him so 2/3 times a week he goes to play on a farm with te labradors other than that he spends time in the garden.
The volunteer took him for a walk and whilst he needs a proper collar and lead he was very excited to be out and quite strong but controllable..
Zeus really is a gentle sweet natured boy , We feel that a calm quiet home with someone who can boost his confidence but also give him time to settle and trust. He does have leishmania but the vet hasn't put him on any medicaction and is not presently suffering any symptons.
