Meet the gorgeous Kea who is looking for her new home through no fault of her own, circumstances as they are she is not getting the exercise and stimulation she needs.
Kea is crate trained and she is particularly vocal especially when visitors come to the house as noted when someone called during the assessment and also when I arrived. When she was let out of the crate she greeted me very warmly and brought me her favourite toy, a burst football. During my visit, Kea just wanted to play and was very friendly indeed, enjoying fusses, kisses and a belly rub.
Sadly Kea has not been walked much at all and so has little knowledge of the outside world or how to walk and behave out on the lead. She was incredibly excited to go out and it took a little time to calm her but even then she still tried to launch out the door in excitement. Initially trying her hardest to get out of the garden I walked her up and down the drive to settle her before we went out and walked along the street. Kea then did walk reasonably well considering, she was keen to try and get in every parked car but wasn't too worried by passing traffic or people.
Kea has not been socialised with other dogs either and she barked at a couple of passing dogs whilst out but what contact she has had in the past were positive.
Kea has no food or toy aggression and was also quite happy for me to touch her all over, although due to her high energy level she doesn't sit still for long. She has also never had contact with children. An affectionate girl Kea knows some basic commands but needs some more work in this area. Kea really is stunning and a delightful girl but needs an active home and someone with experience who can help her with the training she needs.
