This poor boy is Tyson, he's 10 year old and was booked in to be PTS.
Tyson is a dog that has not had one bit of basic training, lived in a household where they don’t know anything about looking after a GSD or any dog. He was shut in a cage with in a shed with little or no exercise, he was only let out to toilet and have his food. He's had no mental stimulus in his life and no toys to play with.
It’s taken us several months to help Tyson understand that humans can be nice and that his life is special. Tyson can be a little grumpy with new people, he doesn’t always like to be touched it’s usually on his terms. He will kennel guard if you don’t know him, but after a few meets he’s your friend.
Tyson is looking for a special someone who can give him the basics, he likes a simple stroll everyday, not to be eager in his space, he’s spent is whole life in a shed so his new Mum or dad, needs to be patient with this transition. Although he goes out walking with other dogs, we have not let him interact as he can be grumpy, but doesn’t react when on the lead.
He is stiff and has arthritis, so important that he is kept warm and moving on a daily basis.
