Meet the gorgeous Tucker sadly looking for his new home due to his owners circumstances.
Tucker was met outside his home by the volunteer. He didn't react to her at all helped she is sure by the treats that she gave him. They took Tucker for a walk. He walks nicely on a lead with a headcollar. He was let off in the park and his recall was not bad but could be improved. His owners called him to return but although he looked back he didn't return, so they walked in the opposite direction and he came flying back to them. He does react to dogs if they have a bark or lunge towards him. He wasn't tested around non reactive dogs. This we feel is an area that will need some work.
When people arrive at the home Tucker is said to howls amd will jump up in excitement. He was very well behaved for the volunteer.
Tucker is lovely with children When the kids push him to his limits he has been known to growl and take himself off to his crate for some peace and quiet. We are looking for a home which ,ay have children but they must have resoect and understanding of limits around Tucker.
He likes to play with the cats and does get very excited. The volunteer felt that it could be worked on but we could not guarentee what he would be like with cats he does not know.
In short a lovely boy a little on the small side. We cannot guarentee what he is like around other dogs due to his reactions on the wealk. Having said that it was at close quaters and the other dogs reacted to him first. We are looking for someone that is prepared to work on his socialisation, someone that will be around as he loves his company. He goes on the school run everyday and is happy to be stroked by all the children.
With a little work a wonderful companion.
