GORGEOUS THEO.

Our assessor described Theo as 'gorgeous'. I think I might say that he is a dog who could be described as this one day.

He is undoubtedly a beautiful boy. He is clearly well bred and is a classic shepherd. If you think of a GSD, in your dreams, then it is probably one like Theo.

And Theo is a friendly very good natured boy. Our assessor saw no sign of aggression from him throughout his visit. He is reactive to dogs on lead but not so otherwise. He just needs refinement of his socialization and lead skills

So what is not to like?

Well, Theo is an unruly pre-teen, with all that this implies. He is being rehomed because of this. Theo has not had the attention and training that such a high maintenance dog requires. His family have been blighted by a very serious health problem and they have not had the energy to spare to give a demanding young dog what he needed. Theo has spent too much time 'shut away' to 'give them some peace'. Of course, this further exacerbated his untrained behaviour by adding frustration to the mix.

Theo obviously has the potential to be a stunning dog. He is hardly more than a pup and could be turned around easily by an experienced GSD owner. But he does need to be taken completely back to basics and he will be challenging and time consuming. How worth the investment, though?
