This lovely young girl is Tess who is just 16months old. She has not long had her first season and has not yet been spayed.
Our volunteer found her to be a wonderful friendly dog, she did not even bark when she entered. She is slightly lacking in manners and did jump up but settled after about 5 minutes.
She is such a happy dog, relaxed and no signs of anxiousness.
Tess lives with young children the youngest is 3 and she is very good with them, gentle, tolerant and relaxed.
Out on a walk, she did pull a little on the lead but apparently she walks to heel for the man of the house.
She happily walked past people and when she saw a couple of there dogs she pulled and just wanted to go over and say hello. Her body language was friendly, no barking, she just wants to play. The owner does not know about cats.
She is quite a bouncy, lively dog but she is still young. Thew lady owner only addressed Tess in a negative way, our volunteer did not hear any praise when Tess did something right.
With someone with more time and who used positive training, Tess would be a super dog.
She is supposedly a GSD/Newfoundland cross but she is the same size as a medium sized GSD.
She is crate trained and settles in there fine for the night.
Tess is being rehomed because the husband works away and the lady owner has 2 young children plus another on the way so doesn't have time for Tess.
All in all a lovely young dog that will make a super family pet in a home where they have more time to give her the mental stimulation and exercise that she needs.
