Joe is 2 years old and we think he is GSD/Retriever cross. He is neutered and has his own passport.
Joe was brought into this country without rescue back up and has been passed from pillar to post through no fault of his own.
He ended up as surplus to requirement in a kennel where after serving his 7 days he was going to be put to sleep.
As an emergency we have moved him to a safe place so that we can find him the home that he deserves.
This is what the assessor says:
'On first arriving Joe jumped up gently to greet me, but soon backed away when told. We met amongst 4 other kennels where Joe could see other dogs. He barked initially but soon settled. Within 5 minutes of meeting Joe he sat and gave paw on command. He let me touch him all over including his feet, up and down his legs and in his mouth to look at his teeth. He voluntarily sat at my feet to let me do this and continued to sit while I talked with the boarding owner. He looks to be in great condition. He would not be a dog you could take straight out and walk on a loose lead, he pulls hard to sniff and investigate. He weighs about 40kg. He seems to prefer people who are confident around him and looks to you for instructions or reassurance, I'm not sure which. I found him to be inquisitive but gentle.'
We thought Joe deserved a chance and we want him to find a super home.
Because we don't know very much about him we think an adult only home or one with older children only would be best suited to him.
Do you think you could offer Joe the home that he deserves?
