REX - SURREY

Rex is currently in his second home having been rescued by his current owner from not a very good start.

Rex is a dog of 2 halves. Fabulous in the home but the outside world scares him and he reacts badly.

He is fine with children that he knows. He is selective with other dogs, some he is fine with others not but this maybe the vibes that the other dog gives off. He is a no to cats.

The volunteer met Rex outside of his nhome, he was muzzled with a harness flat collar and a cord round his neck. He certainly didn't like the look of the volunteer, he was lunging and barking and his owner was trying hard to control him. She walked at a distance and then in front threw treats but nothing really made a difference. Going home was slightly better he seemed a little calmer sniffed and did his business. Photos werer taken and they then took the lift to the flat.

The muzzle was kept on initially but his whole demeanour changed and the volunteer was happy for the muzzle to be removed. She couldn't believe the difference he kept bringing her the ball and insitgating play, took treats really gently gave kisses and his paw, He wanted to be fussed and cuddled. This is what you see when he knows you. He is fine with the owners whole family. Rex would have liked the volunteer to stay forever .

Rex has never been properly socialised and has a dreadful fear of the outside world and all the strangers that he sees. He would like a home that has land so he never has to go out into the world or he would like an owner who will spend some time getting to know him and then try to work on his fears.

He really is a fabulous boy and really needs someone to give him a chance to be the dog that he so deserves to be. If you can give this lad a chance please get in touch.
