Max has been a working dog for his adult life and is now looking for very his special retirement home. He is a fully trained police dog and has enjoyed a good career but now his time has come to hang up his hand cuffs and enjoy life in his forever home. Unfortunately although Max is retiring his handler is not and can therefore not give Max the time and devotion he quite rightly deserves.
Max does have some re-occurring health issues with his skin and ears, all of which are heightened when he is stressed, which unfortunately happens when he is in kennels.
He is a lovely boy who due to his training is obviously is wary of strangers but once introduced correctly is happy to be in their company. He never showed any signs of aggression with the volunteer who assessed and fell in love with him.
He has been socialised with the handlers children so we think he could live with older children and if introduced correctly we think he would be better suited to living with a female dog but could potentially live with a placid male. He is quite a stressy young man so will need a calm, confident and knowledgeable home.
If you have experience of the breed and feel you could offer this boy a retirement home please do get in touch, Max is currently in kennels and as much as the kennel staff adore him he would prefer to be snuggled up in the company of his new family.
