URGENT FPOSTER HOME / FOREVER HOME REQUIRED.....
Smokey is a 6 year old girl who has sadly been put in kennels as she had an altercation with the resident dog and the owners feel they cannot trust her.
She is said to be reactive to other dogs but extremely friendly with people. Smokey didn't have the easiest start in life. She was attacked by a terrier typr dog when she was young which set her back and from then was unsocialised. She was given to a lady who had another GSD and they lived in harmony. This young lady had to go away and left her dogs with an elderly member of the family. She has been living there for 17 months but because of her reactivity she hasn't been walked in all that time.
Smokey is grossly overweight and desperately needs to go on a diet and have some exercise. This is not going to happen whilst she is in kennels hence our search for a skilled foster home or forever home.
One of my volunteers has been to kennels to assess Smokey and he says " She has the potential to be reactive towards other dogs but if corrected instantly when she growls she is fine." She does not need a lover she needs a handler who will point out the error of her ways and teach her how to be a happy dog.....
IS THERE ANYONE THAT CAN OFFER THIS GIRL A LIFELINE....
