EX POLICE SHEP SIMBA NEEDS TO FIND A NEW HOME
Simba came to the Cheshire Constabulary in 2014 (from Essex Police) and was handled by PC Garry Brownlow up until earlier this year, Simba was then handled by PC Mark Rendell but during this time Simba was withdrawn due to having cruciate repair on his rear right leg (in June 2016) & although having made a remarkable recovery was not passed fully fit for police work.
Simba has a pre-existing pancreatic condition whereby he needs medication for life, this generic powder is available without prescription on line. Simba would be provided with existing stocks of this medication & a donation(s) from the police dog benevolent fund to buy more when required.
Simba is a big bold confident Shepherd dog who requires thoughtful handling because of his previous service, he would ideally suit someone used to the breed with the wherewithal to handle such a dog.
He is a loyal, loving and obedient dog, and whilst recovering at home with PC Mark Rendell has kennelled well with Marks other dogs & has adapted to living inside (with Marks wife & children too) Simba is however dog aggressive when outside & is best exercised running off lead in an empty field which he loves.
Mark goes on to say “For the last 4 months Simba has lived in doors with my family. He is house trained and has been a perfect house guest. On first meeting Simba he presents himself I would describe as defensively aggressive. Barking and showing teeth. Introductions should be done in open space letting Simba greet the person. He is an incredibly friendly, loving and loyal dog once confidence is gained. In my house I have two children 9 and 6 years old. He has been brilliant with them, even our young Beagle dogâ€
