Typical of a GSD, Sian barked when our volunteer arrived at the house and she was, initially, nervous/wary. He took Sian for a walk and found that she barks and lunges at passers-by, but responds positively to being checked.
On returning to the house, Sian was let off the lead and was immediately friendly towards our volunteer, sitting when asked, giving her paw and taking treats. She currently lives happily with two children aged 9 and 5.
On one occasion, she nipped someone when out walking and immediately ran away again. We believe her nervous behaviour is simply due to a lack of firm management, but we feel sure that this can be corrected relatively easily and, once this is done, she will become a great companion
