Shiloh - West Yorks

Shiloh - West Yorks
This poor boy had been left with his brother in an abandoned lock up after their owner had closed his business down. They were both filthy and from what we have learnt we doubt that they have seen much in the way of human kindness and they certainly didn’t deserve to live their days like this so we arranged for their owner to hand them over.

Shiloh is now under our care and in kennels and although he is doing really well, we feel that he now needs to have a one to one loving home. Although he did live in a yard with his brother we do feel that this poor boy has never been confident and rather than anyone try and help him, he was left and ignored. It took us a few hours just to get him in a crate. He hated the lead and would just try and bite his way through it.

Shiloh will need an experienced home and a very special person who can devote their time and patience in helping him. He is an extremely affectionate boy and likes nothing more than to be snuggled up to you. However, because we feel that he has been neglected due to having very limited contact with someone close, he really does value this affection ... So much so, that if you are giving any affection to his brother he does become very jealous and will go for him. So he also needs someone who can help him with his doggie etiquette.

Some feedback from our volunteers who have been involved in walking Shiloh :

Shiloh is very nervous but not aggressive. Once you get close to him, he's full of love and licks. He just needs help with his confidence.

This lad has touched my heart from the first day I met him, he was so scared. I was close to tears after spending 10 minutes with him and then he approached me and gave me loads of licks and wagging his tail. He needs patience, understanding and time. Once he has that trust from you he is so happy to see you, he needs reassurance all the time and softly approach he can be scared of sudden movements. Bit jealous of his brother getting attention but was happy to see him through the gate last week.
