This stunning lady is 5 year old unsprayed Sheba, who came to the kennels with her hansom brother Harley. Since being in kennels much lead work and training has been done with Sheba and she continues to improve every day. Sheba has recently been on a kennel break with her brother to one of our volunteers homes this is their feedback.
“Sheba is absolutely stunning and a big ball of fluff. Sheba will get excited when you first try to put on her lead but after some desensitation work after just two days she was beginning to become calmer. When first out again if unchecked she will pull on the lead but this is just with the excitement of getting a walk, once checked or with use of a dogmatic this will cease to be a problem. Her basic commands and recall will need to be reinforced outside of the home; however Sheba is a bright and learns fast especially when there is a ball or high value treat involved, this seems to over come her sometimes selective hearing. She also settles quickly and travels well in a car and a van.
Within the house Sheba is an absolute pleasure, she is calm and relaxed and completely house trained. She will stand at the kitchen or lounge door and ask to come in, she will not go upstairs without being invited. Sheba is not food proud and will also give up her toys easily, she does like to wander around with her rope ball though as a kind of security blanket. This friendly easy going lady likes nothing more than a fuss, a tummy rub and a cuddle and she is completely happy. She will even let you groom and vacuum her!! She will however need a scare dresser appointment to tame all those fluffy bits in order to look her best.
Given the opportunity in the garden Sheba does like to dig (unlike her brother). We approached this problem by giving her her own very small corner of the garden. Once she knew that this was her spot then she left the rest of the garden alone.
Sheba was introduced to 30 other GSD’s whilst out on one of our GSDR Bristol walks and was really well behaved with all of the other dogs and played nicely. She is however absolutely mesmerised with small dogs and will pull on the lead to go and greet them. We believe that given the opportunity she may however chase livestock or any cats in the garden; however, when out on a walk she paid no heed to a tame squirrel and only pulled slightly when he saw a deer! She is very good with children and is very gentle.
The beautiful lady would so much love to be re homed with her brother Harley. However, if this is not to be then we would suggest that she is in a home where she is not left for long as she does pine for him.
Sheba along with her brother have been patiently waiting in kennels for their forever home for a long time now. Can you offer this beauty a home? All In return you will have a really loving companion with so much to give. She really does not deserve to have been in kennels for so long. â€
