Shakira is a five year old girl looking for a special someone to give her a home and work on her issues. Shakira doesn't like strangers coming into her current home and becomes very vocal. When our volunteer went to meet her, she was in the garden and a little unsure, so slow introductions to new people would be best.
However, this beautiful girl couldn't resist to have a play when our volunteer picked up her ball, and she eventually calmed down and went to sniff them.
Shakira is strong on the lead, but this can be worked on as she will focus and enjoy some training. She already knows basic commands and has good recall once she knows you. She is also fine with most dogs, but not too keen on cats.
Shakira's reactivity in the home means that she will need an experienced owner who can put the time and effort to continue her training. Although when our volunteer took her for a walk she was a different dog and thoroughly enjoyed the attention and just being being out and about.
