Shadow - Totnes

This lovely boy is Shadow who is nearly 9 years old his date of birth was 14th May 2010. He is neutered.

Shadow is a happy go lucky, gentle dog with loads of love to give. 

He gets on with most dogs though occasionally finds one that he takes a dislike too. 

He is not a great lover of cats though he loves children and anyone that is prepared to take him for a walk or feed him treats. 

He absolutely loves to chase a ball and loves rope toys.

Shadow greeted our volunteer in a very friendly way as he does with all visitors and was very vocal with squeaking.

He is very strong on the lead but does not pull once he gets the measure of the walker's pace. His recall is not so good, he comes back in his own time.

Poor Shadow is being rehomed because his owner has gone into care because of dementia and there is nobody else in the home to look after him.

A neighbour goes in to walk him each morning for 2 hours but this poor dog is being left for at least 18 hours a day on his own.

Shadow needs ongoing treatment for lupoid disease which costs £26 a month through Blue Cross. We may be able to persuade them to continue with this arrangement once we know what area he is going to be rehomed in. His medication is nicotinamide and oxytetracycline. 

Shadow desperately needs out of his current situation as it is not fair on him that he is being left on his own for so long, he is so lonely poor boy.

Shadow is a lovely older boy who needs a home with someone to keep him company.
