Sasha Neglected GSD
Sasha gentle mature lady needs forever home
When Sasha was collected from her owners, she was so overweight she could not stand on her own and when her fosterer did get her up she could only manage a few steps before collapsing due to the excessive weight she was carrying.
Sasha as she was back in August!
How could anyone allow a dog to be come so overweight that she could barely stand and would collapse after a few steps? Clearly this dog had not been well cared for. The owners have had at least 2 litters from poor Sasha from which they no doubt made a nice bit of cash.
Sasha struggling to walk back in August 2010
It is appalling that this dog could barely walk back then, but thanks to her caring fosterer, this lovely sable coated german shepherd is now losing weight and muscling up nicely - getting fitter by the day.
Sasha having a nosey
Since being with her fosterer, she has been on a very strict diet and exercise program,. She now runs, walks for ages and generally life has improved for this sweet girl.
Sasha with her foster mum
Sasha was surrendered as her owners no longer wanted her. They claimed that she had attacked the new partners westie quite badly yet the fosterers never saw another dog, or any signs of another dog on the property the day they picked her up!! At that time the fosterer was currently fostering a cocker spaniel boy with her own two GSD’s and she never once showed any aggression to any of them. When out for walks, either on the sports fields or on farm fields, when coming across other dogs on and off lead she is quite happy to sniff and mingle with them all. She basically gets a speed wobble and joins in the trot.
The gorgeous Sasha now
She does bark at cats, the fosterers have not been near her but she has seen them around the house and in the garden, barking is the closest she got to them. She howls when she hears the ice cream vendors coming. Sasha is clean inside but might on the odd occasion have a wee if desperate.
This beautiful gentle girl deserves a loving forever home now where she will continue with her exercise and diet program and continue to improve in fitness. Can you give Sasha what she needs? If so please fill out an adoption form and express that you are interested in Sasha.
