Update December 2019: SWEET SANA has been rehomed!
When we came across Sana she was living a dreadful existence, outside all the time, with only a makeshift kennel in a shed. Sana had been kindly rescued by the family, who lived next door to her. She had lived a miserable existence before this, outside all the time, barely fed and severely neglected. Eventually she was abandoned altogether, when her original owners moved house, and the kind family took over her care. They had hoped that she would be able to become a true family member but this proved to be impossible, due to their owning five cats. It was never going to work. They were heartbroken as they truly loved Sana and would have given her a good home if it had been at all possible.
So she was rescued by GSDR and Sana is knowing the nearest thing to luxury that she has ever experienced - kennel life. She is very much liked by all the kennel staff whose only comment is that she is rather timid still. But she has settled well and never put a foot wrong.
We did undertake a dog assessment, in the limited circumstances in which we found Sana. We know that she is a sweet girl with no malice but could not test her on her house training and manners and as to whether she is reactive to dogs. I think it almost impossible that she would be anything other than fearful and therefore reactive, as she has not been socialised. She only lived the life of a prisoner for years
Sana's luck is changing. Her last two moves have been improvements but now she is more than ready for the big one - a home of her own. She is such a sweet girl that with a little patience she would be an asset to any home.
Sana's heart would break with joy to be part of her own family. Are you able to make her wish come true?
