Update on Samson from his foster mum & dad.
We have had Samson for 4 weeks now & this gorgeous boy is slowly starting to trust us. He is a very clever boy & is responding well to commands & is eager to learn. He currently lives with 2 other male GSDs. He does not react to other dogs or animals when out walking (his fav thing to do!). He has improved so much on the lead, from initially zig zagging & pulling (he is very strong) to now walking nicely & to one side, using a head collar.
On first meeting Samson don’t be put off or make judgements from his behaviour, he is very nervous & reacts by barking and growling. However do not let this put you off as he is not showing his true character which is a lively & loving boy. He just needs to feel safe & learn to trust you.
He responds well to positive verbal commands & treats! So training him is coming along nicely.
He is very good in the house & despite his new surroundings, he has had no accidents or destroyed any furniture!
I am so proud of this gorgeous boy and the progress he has made.
We were alerted of this beautiful Gsd who was home alone as sadly his owner suddenly passed away. Our volunteer rushed to do an assessment and was so upset seeing how sad he was she has offered to take Samson into emergency foster. This is what she said about him.
Samson is a lovely affectionate young boy. He is a little apprehensive of new people but as soon as he feels safe he comes round.
Samson is a sociable boy with other dogs & is happy to be around my two GSD males. He loves to play with the ball & eager to play with other dogs.
He is not a boisterous dog but has had little lead experience & therefore requires training & patience.
He responds very well to positive verbal commands & loves walks which have all been new experiences for him.
