Rex - Rutland

This poor pup has endured far more than youngster like him should have endured. He was born on the streets in Cyprus and then was luckily rescued and brought to the UK. That sounds as though all should be good for him but rescue and emigration are not easy experiences for a frightened baby. He has a good home here in the UK and his owners are concerned for his welfare but now they feel that these experiences upset him and he has changed in personality. He has become dog aggressive and his lady owner is worried that she can no longer cope with him, when her husband is working away. She is a busy single parent then and has to manage him and her pram and young children at the same time, when out walking. She wants a better life for her boy, where he can get the exercise that such a youngster needs.

It might be that Rex is acting out the stress of the big changes in his life. Maybe. I think it is equally likely that he is reaching an age where he thinks he is mature enough to 'try it on'. He could be protecting his family from other dogs, or he could be just being a 'chav'. In either case, it does not sound to me as though this behaviour is particularly serious or ingrained and that an experienced owner, unencumbered by other responsibilities on a walk, should be able to address this.

This is Rex's only issue. Otherwise he is a friendly well adjusted boy who gets along fine with his companion dog at home and he is lovely with children.

Rex only needs a home where he can be shown the error of his ways and given the time and training that he needs. Are you the one to give this boy his chance?
