Ruby - North East

????????New Home Needed????????

 

Ruby is a 2 1/2yr old Malinois still in need of a new home. 

Her owners were struggling to provide Ruby with appropriate outlets and so struggled to deal with / control her over stimulated responses to every day events, which lead to excessive mouthing from redirected

frustration resulting in bruises and broken skin.

 

The owners were working on this and making good progress, however, due to ill health, the progress could no longer be maintained, so Ruby is now with TTCanines till they find her the right home, and she comes with free training support for the new owners. Since being with TTCanines Ruby has shown herself to be very human and dog social / friendly, but over stimulated. 

infact she is very excited at the chance of getting a stroke from the people she has met so far, however this is part of the problem in that she escalates the energy level quickly, so lots of micro managing is needed, until her self control has increased.

 

Ruby is most likely not suitable for any sort of security / police / prison type work.

 

Ruby needs a relatively calm home and if any other dog is in the home, that dog must be well behaved / under the control of the owner, so as not to push Ruby out of her comfort zone to quickly. I would say young children would not be good for her, and the new owners have to understand that they are taking on a dog that is a training project and not a well trained finished project.

structure, training and lots of micro managing at first, and lots of patience to bring out the best in Ruby.
