Ruby when meeting you is very excitable but happy having strangers in her home. She didn’t show any aggression nor did she bark at our volunteers. Ruby is in fact affectionate and showers you with plenty of kisses! She seems to have a lovely nature and very passive. When owner told her to go in the kitchen she did do straight away. We were told she does know some basic commands. Whilst we were there, the owner made her wait for a piece of ham which she did do, very well. Ruby is looking to be re homed due to being left for up to 8 hours a day, crated and understandably her excitement levels are high when owner returns home and they feel it isnt fair as also their autistic son does mither Ruby and she can get a bit fed up with him in her space, especially when she's eating.
Ruby is not walked regularly as owner finds it difficult to take her for a walk, she is very strong on the lead and will pull. When volunteers went for a walk with Ruby they witnessed first hand Ruby's eagerness to get on with the walk, once they changed the lead from a flexi to a normal training lead, Ruby was more responsive and settled .Ruby met a dog out on her walk and strained to get closer, no aggression just a few hackles up and with more regular walking and controlled introduction to other dogs all should be well as Ruby really is a quick learner.
