Gorgeous foxy Roxy is approx 2 yr old dainty mini shep who is just a above knee height.
Roxy has always lived with her mum but health difficulties are restricting the amount of exercise and training she gets and Roxy's mum needs more 1-2-1 training than Roxy will allow as Roxy frets when separated, although this is being addressed.
She is a sensitive soul and an absolute sweetheart who will happily come for cuddles when she’s gotten to know you and wakes you with the most gentle licks. She knows basic commands.
Roxy travels fine in the car alone and after initial excitement walks fine on a slip lead although she will woof at other dogs.
She hasn’t met many other dogs and is quite nervous if they approach her but has shown no aggression to them.
She would probably benefit from an older steady dog after careful introductions.
She has good recall and when off lead and keeps you in sight. She has a fab nose so scent work may be an option to keep this clever girl entertained.
She is only toy and treat orientated in the home, outside she shows little interest in either but responds well to praise and human interaction.
Potential adopters should be breed aware as she is in many ways a typical Shepherd teenager who needs to gain some confidence and manners as she is cheeky and does occasionally mouth when she’s over excited.
On that basis we wouldn’t recommend rehoming with young children.
She hasn’t chewed or stolen anything she shouldn’t - aside from carrots - they’re a bridge too far but she may struggle initially once separated from her mum so this should be borne in mind.
I would also recommend only leaving her for very short periods initially which can be increased as she settles and becomes more confident.
She has always been clean in the home and will let you know if she needs to go out.
Her first season ended in November so she needs spaying the end of February.
Roxy does chase our cats but has shown no aggression towards them - just very OTT, she doesn’t like strange cats.
Roxy only started to experience the outside word and human interaction when she was fostered and while she enjoys most new interactions, she is nervous and likes to feel you beside her and she is a shadow at home.
She is an amazing young lady who is a treasure to have around and with the right home, time and patience will be the best friend anyone could wish for.
