Roxy is a lovely, youthful 5 yr old girl. Playful and loves ball games, is good with present owner's grandchildren aged 8 upwards. unknown with cats. Been with her present owners for 3 months, had been in kennels before following a Marital Breakup, where she was good with the dogs there. At the moment she is an only dog, friendly and obedient. Took treats gently, jumped up saying 'Hello', but immediately stopped when told not to.
We think she would fit in to most households as an only dog, or with a calm male dog or even an experienced multi-dog home.
Roxy is fine when left for several hours. She can get over excited when familiar people arrive and can mouth a bit, but this should be easily stopped. Recall is good, to verbal command or a whistle.
Roxy gets very excitable around other dogs and generally will play with them. There have been two incidents however where Roxy bit other dogs. There was no noticeable sign or indication of any violence towards these dogs. It just happened without warning. Roxy then returned to her owners when commanded. The present owners have now lost confidence in Roxy, never sure if or when it could happen again.
Roxy was well-behaved when our volunteer went to assess her, taking treats calmly and going to sleep after a short time. Our view is that Roxy would be a wonderful family pet.
