Meet Rosie, a 5 year old girl looking for a new home. Rosie's previous owner sadly passed away and she was taken in by a member of the family who unfortunately can't meet her needs and Rosie is now being left for long hours.
It takes Rosie a while to warm up to new people, but only because she is very nervous around strangers, especially men. Our volunteer went to meet this beautiful girl and she barked at first but after a few minutes she came out of hiding and took treats from them.
Rosie then went for a little walk. She can be a bit strong on the lead – her mind is all over the place - but she has good recall. We were told Rosie can be unsure around dogs and bark at them but she will mostly ignore them when she's out on a walk.
Rosie and our volunteer walked past a man whom Rosie ignored, but she will need to be carefully introduced to men coming into the home, at least until she gains a bit more confidence.
This lovely girl is good around children and she's a clever onion who knows basic commands and is clean in the home.
We are looking for a confident owner for Rosie as she responds positively to commands from a confident handler and will feel more secure and come out of her shell.
This beautiful girl's life has been turned upside down, leaving her anxious and upset, and she would love someone to play ball with her and simply spend more time with her.
