This lovely lady is sadly looking for a new home as her owner passed away and her carer needs to move away.
Rosie is a lovely ball of energy. When the volunteer arrived she was barking at the door waiting to say hello. She kept on barking and running back and forth very excited that she had a visitor. It was decided to take her out for a walk first before any paperwork was completed.
Rose is walked on a flat collar and flexi lead. She likes to be at the end of the flexi lead rather than next to her walker, but does listen when told to wait at the end of a road or junction. Her walk is around 40 minutes in the morning and 20 minutes in the evening. She could probably cope with the same am and pm but after about 30 minutes you wiill see a slight limo in her front right leg. She has a toiuch of arthritis in her right elbow, but just has a joint medication daily to help. She is never let off lead. Rosie is a pleasure to walk, she will find a stick and happily plod off, tasking in her environment, saying hello to anyone that wants to stop and interact. She met another dog on lead and was extremely well mannered. When her name was called she collected her stick and we walked on.
In the house she loves attention, a typical shepherd who likes to be wherever you are. She enjoys a game of tug but we warned she likes to win EVERYTIME. Having said that she will trade her tug for a treat, but once the treat has gone she wants her tug back.
Rosie will chase and bark at cats, foxes any small furries. So we would not rehome with cats.
As Rosie is so exciteable we would look to rehome with older calmer children. She has not been around young children and those that she has met move far too quickly, and she gets quite stressed by this.
Rosie is an absolute delight, she really deserves some time and attention. Her owner having died she will be grieving and sadly she is not getting the time and attention at her tender age she so deserves.
Any adopter would be lucky to have her as part of their family. She does need to lose some weight which will also help with her arthritis. Don't dismiss her because she is 7, she could have many years of love to give
