This lovely girl is Rose who was bought off a breeder 3 years ago. Her story is typical of the owner getting married, having kids and not having time for the dog.
He left the dog with his father and law- locked up in a cage sharing with another female. He finally gave her on to us, he had neither her health book, a lead, a bed or a toy - just the certificate of her bloodline. As this is the only thing a purebred is for most..A certificate whose litter will bring money.
Rose is a good girl, who loves to play fetch. She is getting socialised and does good with most of the dogs, but we are moving slowly to give her space and make sure she is feeling safe first.
Rose would make a great addition to a home with an existing shepherd (male would definitely make a good match).
As you see she is beautiful, although underweight and her coat shows that she has been malnourished.
All of this is in the past now and we are hoping Rose finds the home she deserves.
Rose is with a German Shepherd rescue out in Cyprus where large breeds are generally not treated very well and often spend their lives on chains. The rescue will raise the travel funds to bring her to the UK but there will be the normal adoption fee which will go back to their rescue so that they can help more dogs like him.
She comes with an adoption package which means she will be neutered, microchipped and vaccinated.
Dogs like Rose really have very little chance of a good life out in Cyprus. Can you offer this lovely girl a chance?
