Update April 2018: Adopted!
Rocco is a small Caucasian Shepherd who is 3 years old and not castrated.
Rocco came in with another Caucasian called Roxy, and we arranged to get them into kennels as soon as we discovered that they had been kept in a cellar for 2 years with little exercise or time outside. It was only when the council threatened to evict the owner if the dogs were not removed from the premises, that we were contacted.
Rocco has lived with young children.
Both dogs were in very poor condition when they arrived, they have been very severely neglected.
Rocco has shown some food possession and we have separated him from Roxy as he was bullying her over food. They have not been fed properly, so it's hardly surprising.
Rocco is good with other dogs but we don't know about cats. He could live with a female dog.
Rocco can be protective so he would need an experienced owner. Unlike Roxy, he does not have nervous issues.
Poor Rocco now deserves a lovely home where he will get the attention and exercise that he deserves along with proper feeding.
We usually only put Caucasians in rural homes, but Roxy has lived in suburbia so we will rehome to a sensible, experienced owner.
Can you give Rocco what he needs? You won't be disappointed.
We are disgusted at what has happened to poor Rocco.
