Ringo - West Midlands

RINGO HAS BEEN WITH WYTHALL ANIMAL SANCTUARY SINCE DECEMBER 2016 AND HAS HAD VERY LITTLE INTEREST; HE IS A GORGEOUS, INTELLIGENT BOY WHO SO DESERVES A LOVING HOME! Hopefully via promoting via the GSDR network we can find Ringo a suitable new forever home.

Ringo is a handsome, large, German Shepherd. He came into the Sanctuary via the local Dog Warden after being left abandoned at a pub. Ringo is a very friendly, energetic and playful boy who loves people! He can be a little unsure of men and will bark at them initially but soon comes round. Ringo has basic commands and knows sit and paw; he has good recall in our field. Professional training classes would be a must for Ringo to improve his basic obedience, lead walking and dog socialisation skills; he is a very bright and intelligent lad. He can be very strong on the lead and does require further lead training to improve this issue; he will pull and lunge especially when excited. We are looking for an active home for Ringo with lots of walks and daily exercise in order to expend his energy and keep him stimulated. Ringo is a typical Shepherd and can be vocal and stressy especially in a kennel environment; we are hoping that he will learn to relax in a home. We are ideally looking for owners who have experience of the German Shepherd breed and are confident handling large dogs; Ringo would need a calm, confident and assertive new owner.

Ringo wouldn't be able to live with cats as we feel he would chase them given the chance! Ringo will definitely require intensive socialising with other dogs as he’s had very little experience of being around new dogs; he becomes very reactive and stressed.

Being the only dog in the home would suit Ringo best, so he has time to learn all the social skills he needs before possibly being able to mix with other dogs. He would be able to live with older, confident children who are used to lively, energetic, bouncy dogs. Ringo is a friendly, loving boy who would make a fantastic companion and has a lot of potential. Ringo is vaccinated, microchipped, castrated, deflead and wormed. If you feel you can give Ringo his loving, forever home please contact. The sanctuary would welcome you calling them direct on 01564 823288 to discuss meeting Ringo. Adoption is subject to a home check.
