Purdy is approx 2 years of age, semi- long coated bitch. Unknown if spayed. On arrival she settled well although took a few days to eat all her meals - ok now. Introduced her to crate and will now go in readily, with treat. Purdy is toilet trained/clean and will indicate when needing to go out. I have put toilet commands on cue, which she seems to be picking up on.
Can show some excitement by jumping up a bit, mouthing the lead (not biting) when first setting off for a walk but this soon stops when you get going. Lead work is very good, only showing tension when walking with another dog. She is good when meeting dogs out on walks, although will show territorial behaviour to dogs visiting the house. I think Purdy would be able to live with a medium/large male dog with careful introduction. Purdy hasn’t been tested for cats.
She has walked passed a sheep field and does show interest by looking, but focus is easily broken with a treat and a firm ‘no’. Purdy will initially bark at house visitors but this is not excessive and soon stops. She is not destructive, likes to play ball and will fetch. She travels well in the car. When out and about she has encountered children, toddlers and cyclists with no negative responses - just interested.
Overall, Purdy is a lovely girl who will suit an active person who enjoys walking and will continue with her training. She is quick to learn, very affectionate and will make a lovely companion.
