Pharah - Gloucester

This lovely young lady is Pharah who is just 18mths old and not yet spayed.

When our volunteers arrived Pharah was quite noisy as she was shut in a converted garage where she pends up to 22 hours a day!

Once she was allowed out, she was very friendly but extremely excited and tried to jump all over them.

She responds to her name, understands some commands and willingly gives her paw.

Pharah appears to have no food or toy aggression. She loved having a cuddle and rolled over for a belly rub.

She takes treats very gently and allowed the volunteers to fit her harness on and halt and then walked reasonably well down the road and back.

She lives with children 7 & 8 and is fine with them.

When distracted by noise she takes no notice of any commands and barks until the noise stops.

She does not like the neighbour's dog and tries to get through the fence at it. The neighbour apparently lets the dog out to deliberately wind up Pharah then complains about the barking.

Our volunteers tried to introduce her to their calm male dog but it didn't go well and she immediately tried to attack.

We suggest that she is rehomed with an experienced owner with no other pets until she can be trained and socialised properly. She does however currently live with 4 cats and shares her toys with them.

Our volunteers were concerned that the garage that she is left in is very warm and the window can't be left open because Pharah will constantly bark which is not surprising given that this poor dog gets very little attention until the husband comes home and is left locked up alone most of the time.

She is being rehomed because there is now a 9 week old baby in the house and the female owner says she can't control the dog because she is too excitable even though she is brilliant with the other two young children.

Overall she is a very friendly dog who loves cuddles and playing with toys given the opportunity. She looks to the husband as the leader but she is grateful with everyone else.

The lovely Pharah.
