Ozzy has been with his present owners since a pup but due to a change in his behaviour oiver the last few months they feel they can no longer trust him and need him to go to a new home.
He has always been a soppy lovely sweet natured boy, the volunteer said on arrival he barked at her, came over for a sniff and then took himself off and settled down. In the hour and half that she was with Ozzy she saw no signs of aggression or guarding.
The reason for the rehome is due to what we believe is guarding of the husband. There have been a couple of occasions where he has nipped family members, once when the son bent down to stroke him and he was at his dads feet the other when in the garden and his dad was in the shed and a family member was walking towards the shed.
They say that he needs a home with just 1 adult who has experience of guarding issues, maybe a home that is quieter . They have had him checked over at the vets, have employed a behaviourist and a trainer but nothing has worked.
Other than that the volunteer found a friendly boy that lives with another dog, If you think you can offer this lovely boy a quieter life, with set boundaries and routine he maybe the lad for you.
Ozzy has never been off ;lead and has no recall as sucjh but he does know basic commands. He apparently barks at other dogs when out protecting his poochon that he lives with but this has not been witnessed by our volunteer
We believe in the right home he will excel and enjoy his life.
