Max is a delightful old boy. He made our Volunteer very welcome and placed himself on the settee next to her, he was so very calm and friendly. His owner will miss him dreadfully, but she knows she is doing him no favours as she’s unable to take him out for a walk. He currently takes himself up & down the flight of stairs to the flat, as the downstairs door is left open for him.
Max can be very strong outside, but then it doesn’t help due to him having the odd walk by friends who come and visit when they can. Our volunteer did take him out, she used a dogmatic head collar and said although he wasn’t keen he soon accepted it and was much easier to walk. She didn’t come across any Dogs whilst out, so was unable to let us know how he reacts. Max has a JRT that comes to his home and stays over.
