Taz is just over a year old and is really is a fantastic young dog. He is probably a GSD / Border Collie cross, he is loyal and gentle but has the exuberance you would expect from such a young dog.
He is exceptionally gentle with people although when out on a lead his protective instincts kick in sometimes and he barks at men, which some might find intimidating.
Taz has been attacked several times by other dogs whilst out walking so he has developed a bit of fear aggression towards other dogs so is kept away from them as much as possible. This needs to be addressed and Taz would benefit from attending training classes.
Taz is fit, alert and memntaly he is 100% switched on. He is used to 4-5 hours walking most days off lead on the hills so he probably won't be suited to urban life.
Taz plays with next doors children and cats plus he is fine with livestock
He would be a dream dog for agility, obedience or SARDA training with sopmeone who uses positive reward methods.
He has been superbly trained, is much loved and his owner is heartbroken at having to give him up but her new landlord has decided - no pets!
Taz is used to 24/7 company and although he has been left alone occasionally with no problems (apart from raiding the bin), he really needs mental as well as physical stimulation.
Work is needed on his socialisation with other dogs.
