Nelson is a really friendly boy (and stunning looking too) who didn’t even bark when I entered. I understand he doesn’t even mind the postman!! He enjoys a fuss and was pleased to have another person to give him extra attention. He rolled over onto his back to have his tummy tickled. Nelson clearly thrives on love and affection.
He is very clever and even wanders on to a towel to dry his feet, when asked, after coming in from the garden. He will also fetch is water bowl and drop it at your feet to let you know it needs filling up. He is already incredibly well behaved for his young age and shows great potential if anyone wants to take his training further.
Unfortunately Nelson is not a good traveller and does get travel sick. He is not used to being in a car so this may improve once he gets used to it.
He is great with children and because of his lovely even temperament he would make a great family pet. He shows no sign of aggression whatsoever. Nelson goes with his owner to visit an elderly resident who is in a nursing home and he is great with the other residents. He sees it as an extra opportunity to get strokes and a fuss.
His owners are very much attached to him but they work long hours and Nelson is being left all day and whilst he wouldn’t normally soil in the house, as he is house-trained, he is being left far too long and as a consequence has no choice but to soil on the kitchen floor. It really isn’t fair on the poor lad for him to be left so long.
He really is one fabulous dog and is a real character. Anyone adopting him would be extremely lucky. I really cannot praise him enough.
