Nanuk - Hereford

This lovely young girl is 14 months old and not yet spayed.

Nanuk is being left alone for very long periods which is not fair on her and has made her nervous. 

When our volunteer visited she was very standoffish and her anxiety escalated when he tried talking to her. Her hair came up on the back of her neck and she was warning him not to approach. He looked away and ignored her but it took 45 minutes before she would approach and take treats from him. She then kept licking him and when he stood up to go she stood between him and the door and didn't want him to go.

This poor dog isn’t getting the stimulation and socialising she needs and we believe that she will be totally different in a short space of time in her new home. She does need to be out of her current environment ASAP before her behaviour deteriorates because of lack of interaction and mental stimulation. She is also underweight.

Apparently she has never been let off the lead and does pull when lead walked.

Nanuk is good with other dogs and could live with another dog but she doesn't like cats.

Nanuk has lived with children from the age of 1 upwards with whom she is friendly and loving.

Nanuk will need an experienced owner and one who will give her the time, exercise and mental stimulation that she deserves.
