Nancy - West Yorkshire

*** Very Urgent Home/foster Needed***

This is the gorgeous Nancy, she is indeed a beauty.  Nancy will be 5 in September and she has spent her time providing litters for her owners.  Nancy was never walked and is in desperate need of attention. Her owners since birth, had booked Nancy in for euthanasia, which broke the heart of our Volunteer, who took her home. Sadly, Nancy is struggling in her foster home, as she doesn’t get on with the resident dogs.  They are both male and due to previous experience, this is quite understandable.
All Nancy needs is to be in a dog free home, where she can get all the attention that she deserves.  Nancy loves being with her humans and loves nothing more than a cuddle on the sofa and a nice walk. As Nancy has never travelled, our Volunteer was surprised how much she loves travelling in the car.  She is secured in the boot and enjoys sticking her nose up to the back window to feel the wind. She is very alert and loves to learn, walking by your side as your loyal guardian.  Nancy has so much potential.  She came into foster with no manners whatsoever and has already learned: come, sit, wait and leave it.  This girl is so eager to learn and to be loved.  She now responds to a click of the fingers to correct her behaviour and will await further instruction. Nancy thrives on praise and will be forever by your side.  If you are looking for a soul mate, you need to look no further. Oh and she use to live with a cat so careful intros I’m sure she would be fine.

Likes: praise, lots of reassurance, being close, raw chicken wings and drumsticks, chest and ear massage, hosepipe, travelling in the car, peacefulness, quiet safe place. Just started to enjoy a good brush. Laying in the garden.

Dislikes: other dogs (doesn’t seem to understand other dog’s social cues), loud noise, being away from you, kibble, neighbours shouting (flattens ears and tail goes in), busy places, lots of noise.

What we think she needs is a peaceful home, with no dogs barking at the fence next door. Someone who is at home with her for reassurance and training and a routine so she knows what to expect. Her foster mum can now handle her and examine her, as shes gained her trust.

If a home comes forward near Leeds/Wakefield then her foster mum is happy to help out and walk her a couple of days a week.

She is due a visit to the vets on Wednesday as we know she’s not been for a very long time and has a sore bum ???? Her foster mum has cleaned but it still looks sore.
