Update January 2020: Merry Mayah has been rehomed.
Mayah is a young Romanian dog rescued as a puppy from certain death. The local children in the village were throwing stones at the mum and her litter, using them as target practice. When we first saw pictures of her she was covered in blood. Since then she has spent time in kennels and latterly in a foster home. This is what her foster carer has to say about her.
I would love to introduce you to Mayah! My sweet little diamond in the rough. I’ve waited a little while to write about Mayah as she settled into her foster home, actually it’s her first home ever. Until Mayah came to me she had always been in kennels.
Well I can safely say she is now completely used to living in a busy-ish home and she has come on leaps and bounds. When she initially arrived she was scared, timid and extremely skittish but very sweet and curious. She didn’t want to come into the house at first, she was afraid of every noise and movement and wanted nothing to do with the two (male) dogs we have. Now? Well now…just look at her pictures!
Okay, okay, about her pictures…I know she isn’t a GSD. Mayah is a mixed breed from Romania, but the way she leaps and hops around I’m guessing she has some type of greyhound/lurcher/whippet thing going on. She is also very sweet and very much a yellow lab, so I’m calling her a Labrahound, maybe a Labppet? I suppose it doesn’t much matter when you are as sweet and loving as she it. She is fantastic with children of any age, she is good and very playful with other dogs, and as far as I can tell she’s good with cats, doesn’t really take any notice of them. She loves to cuddle and will follow you everywhere, especially if there is food involved, or a good scratch of the ears. She loves her treats so any further training or tricks you’d like to teach her would be easy enough. She knows sit, come, down and off. And she does come when called when off-lead. Mayah loves to chase a ball and boy is she quick. In the house she is low energy and would rather curl up with you than run around. And have I mentioned yet how sweet she is?
If you are interested in giving Mayah her forever home or would like more information on her, please be in touch. I’m sure Mayah would love to hear from you!
