This is the lovely Maya who is just over a year old. She didn't have a very good start to her short life having been abandoned, only to end up in the dog pound where she was at risk of being put to sleep because of her behaviour. She went to a large rescue kennels but didn't do well in kennels and became very stressed. She came to GSDR in January and is currently in foster living with 6 other dogs. She does chance her luck and tries to dominate the others but will back down to a more dominant dog. She loves to play and is very affectionate. She would not be suited to a home with very young children or a busy household where there are lots of people coming and going as she can be quite protective. She will need an experienced owner as she needs more socialising and further training. We believe Maya's behaviour is as a result of nervousness so she needs to become more confident when out and about. At times, she would test the patience of a saint but nevertheless she is a sweet little girl.
