Maple is a gorgeous 2 year old Belgian Shepherd who is looking for her special forever home where any members of the household are over the age of 16.
Maple originally came to us as a very nervous girl, but she has come on in leaps and bounds with her confidence, and now enjoys having a play and exploring the paddocks here at the shelter. Once she starts to bond with you, she loves to have affection and fuss, and will stand next to you staring up at you with her beautiful brown eyes until you give her attention!
Although Maple is far more confident now than when she first came to us, she is looking for a quiet home in a rural area, as she gets very stressed on walks outside of the shelter with all the hustle and bustle of the urban roads, and she is reactive to other dogs. She will need a secure garden to help with her housetraining, and so she can have the space to have a play and a mooch around whilst she builds up her confidence out on walks.
One of Maple's favourite things to do is to chill out on the sofa / nearest comfy bed with a chew – she would do anything for a pig's ear! She also loves enthusiastically flinging stuffed toys around and using her brain to work out food enrichment puzzles.
Although it will take a little longer to gain Maple's trust, it really will be worth it as she truly is the sweetest soul who is guaranteed to steal your heart!
