MAGGIE - HERTS

Maggie is a 2.5 year old black and tan short coated girl who is sadly looking for her new home.

Her current owners bought her from Pets for Homes anbd she has only been weith them about 5 months. They cannot cope with her behaviours and are srtuggling to walk her.

The volunteer was met by an over exuberant young lady who is extreme in her excitement. She does jumo upo but there really is no aggression. In her excitement she may nip but this would certainly not be intentional.

She is unknown around children so we would look to rehome with older large breed savvy teenagers.

The owners say that if  introduced correctly she is fine with other dogs but can be totally over the top. She currently resides with onother dog. We think that initially she needs to be the only dog in the home. When out she pulls like a train on alead and can be vocal when she sees another dog but it seems to be frustration rather than aggression.

The current owners say that she resource guards her toys and food. This can of course be worked on.

In short Maggie is a verty pretty petite young lady. At present she is rarely walked, hasd no garden to play in and is left alone when the owners go to work. She would benefit from some mental and physical stimulation woth an experienced calm confident handler. She has so much to offer but where she has been left to her own devices she has tasught herself some bad habits.  The volunteer felt that in the right home she would quickly learn.
