Luna - North Lincolnshire

Lovely Luna has now been adopted

Who could deny what  a lovely girl Luna is? We do not know her breeding but we think she is mostly German Shepherd and part collie. This is always a lively mix and her character would tend to support this.

Luna was originally owned by a young man, with whom she bonded to excess. He did not know enough about dogs to train her and his treatment of her indulged her fears and encouraged over bonding. She was spoiled in both senses of the word. Then her owner started a relationship with a woman and suddenly she had to share him. Then, as if this was not bad enough, she was rehomed with her owner's mother, as her owner moved into rented accommodation.

Luna was both heart broken and confused. She now lives in a busy family environment with several people, other dogs, cats and children. Her cosy world changed radically!

Luna has adjusted to aspects of her new life. She seems to be maternal as she gets along with the cat and the children. She is exceptionally kind and very calm with them. She likes the male dog of the family but does fight with the bitch.

Her behaviour towards visitors is untrained and full on. There is nothing that would challenge an experienced owner but she will need to be taken back to the basic training that she never had. The same is true of her walking on lead and socialization with other dogs. It is all to do. She is a project but such a sweet one, don't you think?

Update March 2018: Luna is now in kennels near Doncaster where she is something of a VIP. She has star quality and this shows as she is so much admired and loved. Her behaviour was somewhat challenging at one time but her spell in kennels has done her manners no harm whatsoever. These days 'handsome is as handsome does'.

Who can resist lovely Luna?
